Solr Cloud Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Solr Cloud Engineer to join our team and drive the optimization, enhancement, and stabilization of our Solr Cloud deployment. The ideal candidate will have experience with Solr Cloud (version 9.5 and above), a strong understanding of performance tuning, and a passion for delivering high-performing and scalable search and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities.

Solr Cloud Expertise:

• Manage, optimize, and enhance Solr Cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Design and implement advanced configurations to support search and analytics requirements.

Performance Optimization:

• Develop and implement performance tooling to increase stability and deliver detailed analytical insights.
• Optimize Solr queries for speed and efficiency across large data sets.
• Monitor, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks in the Solr Cloud ecosystem.

Testing and Analytics:

• Design, execute, and maintain test cases for analytics to ensure robustness and reliability of Solr Cloud solutions.
• Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow for analytical insights.

Deployment and Maintenance:

• Lead efforts to enhance and fine-tune existing Solr Cloud deployments.
• Proactively identify and address issues to maintain system stability and minimize downtime.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including development, operations, and analytics to align Solr Cloud performance with business goals.
• Provide guidance and best practices for leveraging Solr Cloud to achieve optimal results.

Required Skills & Qualifications.

Technical Expertise:

• Hands-on experience with Solr Cloud (version 9.5 and above).
• Strong understanding of Solr architecture, indexing, sharding, replication, and query optimization.

Performance Tuning:

• Proven track record in implementing performance tools and techniques for stability and efficiency.
• Deep knowledge of optimizing queries and search performance in distributed systems.

Testing and Analytics:

• Experience in designing and maintaining test cases for Solr-based analytics workflows.
• Familiarity with analytics platforms and tools for integration with Solr.

Problem-Solving Skills:

• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in Solr Cloud deployments.

Communication:

• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with big data technologies and integration with Solr Cloud.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms.
• Understanding of machine learning or AI integration within Solr.
